I've always had a love/hate relationship with jeans. Some days, all I want is to wear them then on some other day I can't stand to have them on. Weird. All I know is that when I do want to wear them, this is my go to look! The number one rule when wearing the denim on denim look is to contrast your colours. As seen above, pair a washed out shirt with a dark denim and so on. 

I've also paired mine with tights and skirts as seen here. There are many looks to choose from!

Raining Effect.

If you have been living in Vancouver long enough, the rain doesn't come as a surprise to you. 

You've probably even grown to appreciate it. I, on my end, was a tad angry with mother nature when

I first moved here. The best thing I could think of now is: "If you can't beat them, join them." Translation: If you have to live with the rain, why not make the best of it. Gone are the days when our only options were plain rubber rain boots, there are so many options nowadays! Many designers have put their own twist to them and you will find them at any price.

 I know, I am all over the place as of late! One day I am writing about sangria while the next I'm posting pictures of chunky knits with pants.. It's just that we've been getting such unbelievably great weather lately that it's hard to think about Fall fashion just yet. But when I saw some of Zara's Fall looks, I had to share. Zara has been a long time shopping companion of mine through the years. I've turned to them for party dresses, basics and more eccentric pieces while always keeping my wallet happy. They have once again hit the spot this season with rough jackets, girly dotted dresses, colored skinnies: I want it all!

We are far from the friendship bracelets we used to make as kids. This is a whole new level of friendship I tell you. Some are intricate, pilled together, some have gold links! You decide! I am really liking number 4 & 5. They could be worn together. Right? These are definitely on my check list for Fall. 

The weekend is already here and it looks like the weather just keeps getting better out here! Let's make use of this sun before it's too late!

There is a pizzeria where we love to eat right by our house. Each time, I get a regular pepperoni and cheese while my bf takes the prosciutto and arugula one. As our plates arrive, we go thru the same scenario, I have a large amount of his. (Everything tastes so much better in someone else's plate.) So instead of ordering pizza on a weekday night, I decided to recreate our favorite pizza but in smaller versions. You can make them on bagels, flatbreads or even your own dough!

I would chose this pizza hands down before ordering out! It's a couple of steps more but oh so worth it!

Pick your issue.

As a lot of people may know, I am a magazine junkie. Yup. My mom refers it to "getting my dose" every time I purchase a new issue. And purchasing new issues I do. Often. With Mag's, you have to take some and then leave some: Some may say they are a bad influence, portraying perfect airbrushed bodies, twisting some reality (e.g. "9 hints he is cheating on you" articles get you to cringe.) but overall, Women's magazine feature some constructive content from ongoing trends to kick ass Women waiting to rule the World. 

So the September issues are out. I've read all of the above. That kinda of makes me a "magaholic". Sad.

- Very touching article about a mother and daughter sharing a husband in the Marie-Claire issue. Yes, it is common within certain tribes. (And no, he isn't her Father.)

- Very intriguing interview with Whitney Cummings in ELLE. At 28 years old, she stars in her own sitcom "Whitney" that she wrote and directs but is also Producer on "two broke girls" which is the new show that's got everyone raving.

- Of course, everyone has September 11th on their lips at the moment. The open letters written to the losts in the attacks got me all teared up.

- All issues had gorgeous cover girls. Please let us know what they eat. But my favorite cover overall was miss Agron from Glee. Who knew she had that sexyness in her.

- There is a sparkly Miu Miu shoe in almost every issue.

- There are no words to describe Kate Moss's wedding spread. She is a model afterall.

Girl Time.

Living with a boy is pretty fun: You always have your best friend around, someone to watch movies and cuddle with. One downside though is that you have to share your decor ideas. My bf definitely has good interior design skills but it's not as if I can have pink pillows thrown across the room. ( I used to when I lived on my own, no joke.) I've put together girly accents that could still make both boy and girl happy. (ok, maybe not the pink agate coaster!)

A Little Love!

In a world where we depend a lot on how others perceive us (Even if we shouldn't), I think it's important to take a step back and make sure we know what WE love about ourselves. There are some things people probably don't like that I love about myself, and at the end of the day that's what matters the most.

Here are great outfit inspirations for our end of Summer/Beginning of Fall wardrobes. I especially like photo number 3, which has a casual yet flirty feel to it. The army inspired jacket trend over a cute dress with booties have caught my eye this season. Which look is your favourite?

Well, we are off to a long weekend, a long weekend that implicates Summer is coming to an end. You know..the weekend where it's your last chance to wear white? Labor day weekend? ;)

Birthday Cake

I love birthday's. If you are a close friend of mine, you probably know that I start talking about my birthday months before the actual date, I cannot help myself. If we are just starting to get to know each other, watch your back come December because I will have already started blabbing about my upcoming bday (Which is in April). I apologize in advance for that. But I also carry this bizarre behavior for other people's birthday too. I'll ask: "Hey what's going on for your birthday, it's so soon." two months before that poor persons birthday.
